BigTime software offers a fully integrated time and billing software to help professionals, businesses, and even government contractors optimize their client-billing and invoicing processes.

Time Tracking

Make tracking and capturing billable hours easier with BigTime’s mobile timesheet. This timesheet provides a user-friendly interface with a one-tap timer feature for effortless, one-handed monitoring of hours your clients are supposed to be billed. This feature functions whether you are online or offline, with all your offline records automatically syncing with your BigTime cloud account once you go online. You can also view your daily and weekly records by customizing your timesheet view.

Expense Tracking

Track all types of expenses from mileage, purchases, etc. directly on your smartphone. Keep documents, such as physical receipts and documents by taking photos of them and attaching the images to your digital expense report. Organize your expenses to make it easier to find which is reimbursable, non-billable, etc. Each expense is also automatically linked to a project (internal or client billable), thus saving you time from manually documenting every expense and matching it to the right project. Expense tracking functions are available even when you are offline and all your offline records sync automatically once you are back online.

Billing

With BigTime software, you can set up your billing rates per project task, staff, work codes, and more. You can also set a base rate and a maximum of 5 billing rates whether per staff member or activity/task or both. When it comes to projects, you can set up an unlimited number of rates.

Invoicing

Choose from the templates available and use the template editor to customize your invoice according to your and your clients’ preferences. With BigTime’s template editor, you can personalize your invoice with your company logo and information. You can also customize the details you and your clients would like to include in the invoice such as time entries with notes, expenses with receipts, tax rates, budget status, remittance information, sub-total options, and more.

BigTime’s invoicing feature also automatically calculates hours, billing rates, and other expenses.

DCAA Timekeeping

This feature helps government contractors stay compliant with DCAA requirements. With this feature, you can set up time logsheets in the approved DCAA format. You can also set up timesheet restrictions and verifications such as submission period, timesheet lockdown period, as well as role-based view, edit, and approval access. This feature also supports electronic signatures, which can be required to certify that a DCAA timesheet has been reviewed and approved by the manager.

Reporting

Get all data and analytics you need in just a few clicks and export them in the format you prefer (PDF, Word, XLS). In the app, you can customize your reports using in-app tools to set up filters, search options, and more. You can also view your projects’ status as well as your staff’s performance in summary or in detail to know if everything is operating as expected or if there are areas that need improvement. Access to this feature can also be restricted by user or role.

Project Management

BigTime provides all the necessary tools to help you manage your projects without the need for a third-party project management application. PROS: Big Time is user friendly tool for time management. Its mobile app feature allows me to enter the time on the go, I use it with Quick Books to track budgets. I love this platform it is very useful. The software provides API access and this means I can sync it with other platforms like Salesforce. It allows us to run reports for Resource management.

CONS: I would like to see time forecasting feature.

The least favorable review

PROS: I love the layout of BigTime because the time tracking software is easy to use and doesn’t require much training. You can easily customize the data by project type and task. The notes section is great for communicating and sharing the progress with other managers.

CONS: BigTime can be weird when deleting notes and projects. For example if I want to delete a project note before time entry then an error message will pop up and the cells I try to delete are automatically reconfigured. In addition, the auto-save option would prevent loss of data whenever the software goes down.

PROS: The software exceptionally monitors my company’s expenditures. This capability has been beneficial as it allows us to see our current balance, generate a budget, and speed up the work process. We are able to create expense reports and store all financial data in a centralized location. Moreover, the time-tracking functionality is incredible, and everything in the software showcases a compelling design that makes it more exciting to use daily.

CONS: The software needs to have some essential functions to speed up the process even more. For instance, it doesn’t have a button for editing invoices whenever the collection status is created or closed.

PROS: The app interface is user-friendly and navigable and is made for easy tracking, as you can compartmentalize your project into smaller components for more details. The app also gives relevant information on how you can better segment your program.

CONS: I’m having a hard time with the accounting, I also find the interface too rigid I can’t customize it to make it more suitable to my transactions. It’s inclusive as you can’t integrate it with other apps like QuickBooks which could’ve streamlined the operations.

PROS: I am really impressed by how sophisticated this tool is, as well as how user-friendly it is. With this tool, I only need to go to one place to see billing, expense reports, and time tracking. Because of that, it has become easier for me to monitor and track employees and how much time they've spent on a given project. Its user-friendliness has also made it easier for our employees to grasp it, minimizing the time we spent on training and onboarding. I also want to commend their customer support for always listening to our concerns and providing adequate solutions.

CONS: I am not very fond of this tool's reporting features, which I find to be clumsy. It's really tedious making a report for an employee who's retiring, or even an employee who is leaving the company or even a project.

PROS: We were searching for a software that will integrate with QuickBooks desktop and then we found the BigTime software. It is flexible, it provides great integration with QB, and it's affordable. It allows us to keep track of profit and projects. Whenever we face some problem or issue we can chat with its support team immediately via chat or email.

CONS: Sometimes I run into some issue but it is fixed quickly. It is not full accounting system, the integrations take some time to run. My suggestion is to create better instruction video.

PROS: Their customer service is incredible. Brannon Hollingsworth, one of BigTime’s customer service reps, has been my favorite staff. He is helping and guiding my team whenever we have concerns with the software. He is responsive, communicative, and fast when we need his assistance.

CONS: BigTime is excellent software when it comes to processing payrolls and tracking employee working hours. It does a great help in my business, and I think there’s no better reason to complain about it.

PROS: BigTime is simple, powerful and easy to set up. At the beginning all users get training and they can begin with their time management immediately. It is flexible with invoicing. In fact, there is no full control over the invoice format but it provides enough flexibility to create professional invoices, according to which you are able to add expense receipts to PDF. It allows you to transfer the invoices to QuickBooks Desktop and everything is automatic.

CONS: We had some issues with lack of an organization record. It would be great if they could implement an organization record and assign properties such as hourly rate, invoice terms, and address.

PROS: I am specialized in tax and accounting. We use professional tax software and we are happy that Big Time integrates well with our software. It is a time saving product, we only have to change the status of our tax software and everything is changed automatically within BigTime. We also use the dashboard so we can track the progress of every tax return.

CONS: Everything works fine, but they could include more contact information within the mobile app.

PROS: When it comes to our employees, not all of them are on the same level of tech savvy. This is why I really appreciated how this tool's time entry process was so direct and simple. Because of its user-friendliness, it wasn't difficult to transition our employees from a traditional time tracking process to this digital one.

CONS: I found it difficult to come up with necessary reports because this tool's reporting features were lacking. This lack means I can't look at multiple data ranges and use them for reports. I also can't take available information and represent it graphically. This is a shame because this tool could potentially be helpful when it comes to providing managers with knowledge and information that is actionable.

PROS: I am amazed how quickly their technical support team responds. Their English is fluent and we are able to understand and apply the solutions immediately. I have to say that I like their sales team as well. They are knowledgeable and always come up with solutions, they are patient and offers us great ideas so we can improve our business.

PROS: The software is easy to use and meets our needs. Their staff make sure that the program will suite our needs and that it will work for us. Whenever we had some issues they worked with us to make sure that the issues are fixed. They gave us some time for free usage because of the problems we had with the system.

CONS: BigTime is great tool but something that I don’t like is that I cannot access the program from any device. We couldn’t access the program from 10 asus Tablets and then we had to switch to notebooks.

PROS: Big Time is an organized tool with well design timesheets. You can include fields you need and you can customize it the way you want. The good thing is that one user can launch timers from anywhere within the app and then to fill in names and other details. You can enter names, billing codes and other information by using lightning-quick lookups.

CONS: In my opinion it would be great if they could include proper training in the beginning. It really has too many layout options and this can be confusing because they are not well versed with it.

PROS: We love the mobile app because makes the timesheet entry simple. Another great feature we like to use is the dashboard, because it allows us to see how much time is billed against our organizations billability. BigTime helps me to define the billable rates by job, task, client and the person performing the work. I am able to track various pricing for performed work per individual, client, job and even task. Thanks to Big Time we don’t need to worry about billing details anymore.

CONS: I cannot find anything to dislike about BigTime.

PROS: Big Time is user friendly tool for time management. Its mobile app feature allows me to enter the time on the go, I use it with Quick Books to track budgets. I love this platform it is very useful. The software provides API access and this means I can sync it with other platforms like Salesforce. It allows us to run reports for Resource management.

CONS: I would like to see time forecasting feature.

PROS: I love the layout of BigTime because the time tracking software is easy to use and doesn’t require much training. You can easily customize the data by project type and task. The notes section is great for communicating and sharing the progress with other managers.

CONS: BigTime can be weird when deleting notes and projects. For example if I want to delete a project note before time entry then an error message will pop up and the cells I try to delete are automatically reconfigured. In addition, the auto-save option would prevent loss of data whenever the software goes down.
