PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

By far, the best aspect of this product is its simplicity for end users. The interface is straight forward and rather intuitive. The time required by staff to create, open, process, and close work orders very reasonable, and there isn't really anything in these steps that is troublesome or confusing. This was a big factor in our decision to go with Hippo as our CMMS, and has really helped make its roll-out successful with our workforce.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

As an administrator for this software within my corporation, I spend more of my time working in the administrative back end that the developer has provided for this purpose. I'm happy that the software is easy for staff to learn and use, however I wish the administrative aspect of the software was a little more robust to more easily service my needs for managing a very large number of facilities. Even with the ability to create templates, rolling out a similar work order to 100 different facilities still requires performing some steps 100 different times. As well, there are a number of easy-to-generate reports, but I find that what I want to see in reports is not always what is provided. The alternative is a data export process that is a little too confusing for me.

What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?

In response to my comments about aspects that are problematic for me, my wish list would include the option of being able to use tables to coincidentally create work orders (scheduled, or demand) across a number of facilities. Likewise, the ability to create a broader range of reports or data exports that compile the information I desire.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We previously had no online/electronic means of assigning, tracking, and retaining maintenance information. Hippo has achieved this.
