What are the best aspects of this product?
Acronis has the ability to virtually boot from your backup media, which saves you from a lot of downtime if your server fails. The cloud storage is also pretty cheap when comparing to other services. We moved our clients from a different solution to Acronis, and saved a lot of money while increasing value, in being able to virtualize servers from the actual backup media.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
The cloud interface and dashboard are very slow sometimes, and will kick you off in the middle of doing something from time to time. It takes patience to set up. However, it performs very well when you do set it up. Reporting is also not very full featured and are difficult to dig through, so we rely on alerts instead.
What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?
It would be nice to have better reports for the MSP who is using this software for their clients. Right now, you have to rely on email alerts or visually inspecting the dashboard. Some errors are false alerts, so digging through them all can be time consuming. A better reporting feature would be ideal. Also, the speed of the cloud interface is an issue that should be solved.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
We now can offer local backups to our clients that can virtualize from the backup media, which increases the value of our services. We did not have to raise prices to offer this, in fact we saved money from our previous solution.
