What are the best aspects of this product?

One great way in describing After Effects is that it's a Photoship with added motion, pulse, movement, and animation. That's what I love the most about it. You can do these things in Photoshop. But you get to them in motion with After Effects.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

From time to time, especially when dealing a major project, the preview mode can give you fits. It can either run at a snail's pace or you'll need to lower the preview mode further that you won't know what you're making at all. It'd be better off if there were enhanced engines for pre-visualization. There's a more advanced approach in personalizing folders and files.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Thanks to AE, I'm able to resolve issues from basic edition consisting of simple text and captions. This includes image improval and doing a re-touch to correct animation projects for visual presentations. I can do Gifs online. I can now make videos for presentation purposes.
