Better than MS word

What are the best aspects of this product?

It is second to none when it comes to designing layouts for documents. Previously, I was using Publish or MS Word to come up with those designs. However, when I had an experience with InDesign I have never looked back. It has become smooth in the use of this tool for my school documents. I am able to create attractive and clear layouts. It has amazing tools and features that allow me to take control of those designs. Such a user experience is not available in the tools we used previously. The functionality is simple which means it is easy to get along with this product once you get the hang of things in terms of how it works.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

Although it is a simple tool, it has a lot of features and tools to digest. For a new user, it can be a lot to take in at first. I dislike the fact that I have not fully explored the capability of this product and thus miss out on some of the great design functionality InDesign has to offer. This is entirely on me as I have not had the time to learn all the formatting features and tools InDesign has in store. All in all, I find this product worthwhile as it offers better and more reliable capabilities and control as compared to other similar tools in the market.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

For the part of design, InDesign has come out as a winner. It has made us even more reliable in terms of the quality of designs we product. Our designs are able to be used by people within the company. InDesign has increased visibility among design departments all over the country which is a plus to the field of design. The process of design has become easier and faster with better quality designs than before. Since we were using MS word to create layouts for documents, it was not that easy. Luckily, we found InDesign to solve many of the problems we experienced with our previous design tools and thus a plus on our part.
