
What are the best aspects of this product?
The ability to quickly develop applications is tremendous, The robust report development part has been very useful and allowed us to mimic reports that have been very beneficial for our clients. The integration of Alpha's Transform product into our applications has truly been monumental in our field data collection process. The ability to rapidly develop, modify and implement field forms is very efficient and easy to produce. Adding calculations into the forms customized for different clients is a big plus that allows their field personnel to receive instant feedback as the move through the data collection process. Staying current with technology is one key factor in our use of Alpha Software for our business, both internal and external.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
While this may not be for many users, knowing how to navigate through certain parts of Alpha and how to use different features may take a few hours of research, studying videos and some trial and error. Although that is the way many things are done part of me wishes everything was more automated and as easy as a lot of the development in Alpha. But it does continue to improve and the online instructions and blogs/message board are a good source of help.
What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?
I believe if Transform were fully integrated as part of Alpha Soft\ware that could provide additional value. Even as it is today if adding new fields on forms in Transform could be set up to automatically add those fields to the back end database that would open up a whole new world in our industry.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Our industry was almost entirely using paper forms, with the more advanced methods using spreadsheets tied to Dropbox to collect data in one place. Being able to introduce our clients to mobile forms that can be customized and provide a truly paperless approach has been tremendous and a huge time saver for our company and our clients.
