What are the best aspects of this product?

Anaplan boasts features that make it undoubtedly superior to its competitors: in-memory processing; API integration; modeling, real-time data calculation, and processing; providing full audit trails; synchronization of business rules and data; dynamic scenario building; role-based access settings; and structuring collaboration flows; among others. These all contribute to smarter forecasting and drafting of strategies. Anaplan is much competitive than more popular rivals like Hyperion which I used for years until I found this one.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

The downside with Anaplan is that its reporting and storage capabilities are compromised by its computing power, its principal function as a planning solution. Also, adding more reporting customization commands will be a very welcome development. Although, admittedly, for these issues, we can find ways to go about them and somehow achieve what we want, the work to do this can be very time-consuming.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Anaplan has been instrumental in keeping ourselves updated on how to make better financial targets or analyze whether we must recalibrate, then base our action plan on Anaplan's reports. All in all, we are a much better company with improved budgeting, collaboration, greater efficiency, and increased transparency.
