What are the best aspects of this product?
Mule happens to be the greatest platform in the market. It's capable of connecting arbitrary enterprise systems. At the heart of it all, is an open-source Java. It's made on the Spring framework. Connectors are typically available and free of charge.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Documentation and marketing appears to push developers in making simple integrations natively. Then having them deployed straight to production. Improvements in training and tooling are noticeable. But when it comes to general application development, it'll take years for maturity to hit. Mule's pro-active efforts for our open source software is consistent yet slow over the past several years.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Enterprise intergration will keep on growing. It'll remain essential for my clients although it hasn't made things easy. Mule ESB is responsible for the bulk of integration solutions that I've been using. Just recently, enabling the API is becoming more important for my clients.
