What are the best aspects of this product?
There are lot of things I like about Avamar, such as: Source de-duplication and de-duplication rates. I like the VM level Snapshot Backups and WAN Backups. It has great server footprint and RTO & RPO.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
It lacks Granular level recovery. There are some issues with identifying backend sizes. It doesn’t support old OS’s. They have to work on this one because lot of companies work with windows 2000, XP and other. Many backup tools like Netbackup, networker are still compatible.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
It helps us to transfer from Tape Backup infra to Avamar WAN. It doesn’t require much storage, servers and power usage.
