What are the best aspects of this product?

Basecamp delivers great service and awesome customer support. They roll out a consistent string of updates and the user interface is very smart. In fact, it is so intuitive enough that even my most technology apprehensive clients hare having a blast using the system.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

Rather keeping a single development trunk, Basecamp has a number of issues in relation to releasing major updates as totally new, yet mutually exclusive, platforms. This results to migrating projects becoming a nightmare as every new major release is priced using an entirely new pricing structure. Those new pricing structures seem to only benefit the heavy users; meaning, if you require less than a few dozen projects, you paying more for the only little things you need.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Basecamp is an ideal platform for coordinating client/provider communication. It is also an apt software as it comes with the integration with email client response functionality.
