Easy to assign tasks in a project

What are the best aspects of this product?

It has an all-round ability to make your projects and work in general easy. With the message board, you are home and dry as you know exactly what is going on with your projects. It helps teams to work together in unison on the same platform. Apart from that, they get to share files relevant to that project. The to-do list feature is impressive when you want to assign task to another member of the team. Using this feature, you will also include dates from the calendar to help them prioritize accordingly. There is also a document which is editable when you want to hold meetings. In the document you can indicate things that you need to talk about during the meeting which facilitates taking down of minutes in the meeting. It integrates well with email to help you stay up to date with what is happening with the projects.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

The to-do list feature is limited in a way. It assumes that a single task should be undertaken by a single team member. This is not the case for big projects where tasks are huge and thus multiple members have to come in to help beat the deadline for that particular task. With Basecamp you can only assign a task for a single user. It would be better if there was an option to assign a single task to multiple persons. This would help with the big projects. Apart from the above, I am impressed with how the tool makes my work easy. Teams can work remotely and still have an update of what is happening in terms of the progress without going to the site.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

It has helped us to stay on track while we concentrate on making our projects’ success. It is vital that our project team stays intact when it comes to what they are supposed to do and the objectives of the projects we undertake. We are currently using Basecamp for our digital preservation system. Since we are in the education industry such a platform will help us communicate easily and thus contribute to our success with this system. On Basecamp we are able to showcase our milestones and discuss consistently on how to arrive at what we want to achieve. In short, implementation of the same has become easier and more visible for all the related parties.
