If your team is of 5 members then you can use Bitbucket for free. You can transform all your data from Github to this product and import repos easily. This is collaborative tool so it is perfect solution for your team. It offers features similar to those from Github but you get these ones for better price.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

If you run open source projects then you should use Github because Bitbucket is not perfect solution for this type of projects. Furthermore, the loading is slow and the price for large team is high.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

It helps us in version control management, to create private access to the repos. We have free and private repos and great integration with Github and other Atlassian products.
