What are the best aspects of this product?
Backups are something that everyone should have. Thing is, operating on full backups can lead to a lot space wasted. It can also be a time-consuming process. CrashPlan is great backup application that lets you set it and forget it. It protects both your Windows/Apple PC by securing your files.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
In case of an operating system failure, the system (and apps that were in it) will need to be re-installed. CrashPlan is not an immediate substitute for creating image/clone backups. The number of times in creating full-image backups can be minimized. This can be made possible through "snapshots" of files that are frequently changing.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
CrashPlan includes an additional protection layer by letting backups be housed in varying locations. This could be anywhere from an iCloud or another desktop PC over the internet. This ensures protection of files from acts of God. Whether it's flooding or fire, any of these instances can easily wipe out original and backup HDDs. This holds true if they're all situated in the same building.
