What are the best aspects of this product?
We love how regular the updates are and the new responsive admin area is fantastic. What I really like is that while its a different system from regular CS-Cart, it feels seamless moving from a single vendor implementation to Multi-Vendor. We found setting up a marketplace to be hassle free and extending the functionality was straightforward to those that have worked with CS-Cart before.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
I think as with all platforms of this complexity, no matter how easy you make it, there is always a bit of a learning curve, particularly if you have not used CS-Cart before. Having the support team on hand really helps in these instances. I don't really know how this could be further improved, my only advice to users is stick it out, learn the curve, you won't find another platform that gives the same value for the price.
What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?
We are from South Africa, so it would be great if some South African realtime shipping methods could be integrated. Also currently Vendor cost splits are handled by PayPal, it would be nice if some South African gateways could be included, but these really are nice to haves and by no means deal breakers.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
We wanted to get a marketplace set up as rapidly as possible, and with CS-Cart Multi Vendor this happened even faster than we anticipated. At a later point, our vision for the system changed a bit, but the platform was right there with us, and with a few adjustments we were able to implement without reinventing the wheel or purchasing additional software. So in essence, speed and adaptability are what sold us.
