What are the best aspects of this product?
There are a number of great things with Dell Boomi that I love. I use it daily for work. Its capabilities along with consistent enhancements from the team led to a product that you think isn't satisfying with its present status, but still sticking to the needs and feedback from customers. When it comes to environment management between production and test, it was easily done via Boomi. Thus maintenance and development is a delight once you're able to set this all up in covering your needs.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
There are some areas where I hoped they would really improve on. When it comes to custom scripting, making use of Groovy/JavaScript would be a great for syntax highlighting or features similar to help simplifiy development. At the same time, keeping low-risk syntax problems. The SOAP Connector has no support for NTLM/Kerberos authentication. This would leave you with only a single option: developing a branded connector.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
It offered integration for numerous systems. These include Microsoft Dynamics, Navision, Salesforce, and other third party vendors. Maintaining and developing web services and API are what's important in our implementation. Put this together with Salesforce integration, you get customized web services and standard operations such as merge/delete/querying/insert, which are critical for success. Being able to have integration streamlined as well as possessing a cloud solution.
