What are the best aspects of this product?

Others may consider Documentum as one of the major pillars in document management. What I find impressive is that it has a structure that is so powerful and sturdy that it has managed to withstand the test of time. If you ask me, that is a feat that is worth a recognition enough in itself. I know that some of the biggest data management solutions have patterned their framework on Documentum. In my world, I know that this program is a force to be reckoned with. Other than all of these, I also appreciate how it allows the users to customize according to their preferences too.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

To be honest, I think the undoing of this robust giant happened when EMC took over its operations. A lot of its newer initiatives have been a flop--their WDK, DFS, and ever some of their licensing features. It would have been better if they stayed in an autonomous program.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We’ve managed to track our files from its conception all the way to its implementation.
