PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

I am used to the AutoCAD interface so I am glad that DraftSight has a familiar look and feel. It supports multiple formats, including DWG and DXF, and can convert them to other formats like SVG as well. With this, I can view and edit files made in AutoCAD without needing to buy a costly license. This is also helping us produce documentation for our projects.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It could be enhanced with more AutoCAD-like features. DraftSight also needs to improve its print dialogue interface and to add support for DWF exporting. Plus, they should remove the need for constant program registration.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Viewing AutoCAD files with DraftSight is awesome because we do not need to acquire a license we won't need. On top of that, it has drawing features that help us produce design proposals. Later on, we can use them in sophisticated software without affecting the integrity and interchangeability of the drawings.
