Mapping is relatively essential in helping us pull out relevant data and resources that are made accessible to everyone.

What are the best aspects of this product?

With ArcGIS, it feels like you are painting a large portrait that says a thousand words. It allows you to conduct spatial analysis, study patterns, develop a hypothesis and relay your results based on all the facts that you have collated. It gives your audience a broader picture of what's going on and what should be done.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It took me longer than expected to be comfortable with the application. Luckily I was able to seek help from GIS experts in the office. It would be better if they can come up with a learner guide that tackles common issues with ArcGIS. So a lot of people like me would feel at ease with the program.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We were able to place a lot of mosquito traps in residential areas that are complaining of getting sick with the West Nil virus. Thanks to ArcGIS for allowing us to conduct spatial analysis in several communities. The study was able to help us determine breeding grounds for mosquitoes which means that we have to be more aggressive in treating the root cause of the issue.
