Free, open, and very impressive!

What are the best aspects of this product?

I love just how easily Grass can process all common GIS formats such as vector and raster. Its hydrologic modeling tools 3D rendering tools are quite impressive too. Most importantly, Grass fosters such a welcoming and all-inclusive community of users and developers.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It's an open-source platform, which means that I can't really expect their customer support to be as present and responsive to my specific needs.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Through Grass, I've been able to map out stream banks with the help of its slope analysis, LiDAR, and DEMs tools. I've molded some water tables (depending on the season) with these tools and the soil data that I've managed to acquire. In the end, the hydrologic flow has been restored thanks to the tools offered by Grass.
