What are the best aspects of this product?

Oracle JDeveloper helps you develop high-level enterprise applications. It has a strong architecture which is great for scalable and robust maintenance. You develop applications using a graphical model in the platform where you use workflows, templates, active directories, and security. These are connected to the J2EE architecture and JSF. It helps you tease out great potential. Users can create various projects like in JSF, ADF, Java and Excel Integration. We currently use it in the company and it gives us a unified working point for architecture layers.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

The platform is pretty heavy. It has great system requirements. Also, often, there are errors which are unmanageable. You can only solve them by shutting the application down. This should never be the case but if it is not ran, you can continue development. The IDE connectivity with the server is unstable. It doesn't matter whether it is on-premise or in the cloud. It just bogs down. I hope this gets fixed.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We use it to create high-level applications for commerce with great quality. The layers of the IDE is unified and this makes it more robust. Furthermore, we have improved our delivery times since using JDeveloper.
