MacSentry is a Belizean-based VPN service designed for MAC and iOS users. Thus, the VPN service runs on Apple devices (iPad and iPhone); however, through manual configuration, MacSentry can also be used on Windows, Linux, and Android. With a simple and easy to use interface, the VPN service offers 18 server locations in 14 countries which include UK, Netherlands, Germany, USA, and Canada. It also offers servers across Costa Rica, Korea, Singapore and South Africa.
Although the number of server locations offered by MacSentry is less than those provided by its competitors, it provides features that are normally found on other VPN services. MacSentry has the capability to unblock websites around the world, bypassing censorship and providing users unlimited access to their favorite sites.
In addition, it supports protocols such as OpenVPN, IKEv2 and/or L2TP/IPsec. In terms of privacy, MacSentry temporarily records some data when users connect to its VPN network. This data includes username, internal IP, session length, and the amount of data transferred; however, such data is automatically purged once users disconnect. Thus, users are ensured that hackers won’t be able to intercept and steal their sensitive data while it is in transit. MacSentry furthermore offers built-in system tools which help users boost the performance of their devices: network connection monitor, drive clean-up tool, and battery status app.

MacSentry is built with system tools that provide users information about their internet connection and device. These tools include network connection monitor, disk manager, and battery monitor. The network connection monitor enables users to determine which applications and programs are slowing down the speed of their internet connection. MacSentry is using a handshake encryption (AES-256 with up to 4096bit handshake encryption). A handshake encryption prevents users from connecting to hackers or attackers who are imitating or impersonating a MacSentry VPN server.
