What are the best aspects of this product?

Mendix does an excellent job in kickstarting things off for you. It lets you dive into things shortly after. There's no need to have a background in development. It's great to no longer worry about a database setup. It's pre-installed debugging guides you to the root cause. It'll tell you which areas need to be fixed.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

Medix is lacking certain features. These include e-mail integration and authentication. However, is mitigated by leveraging their very own app store as well as certain customized Java. While its default UX/UI themes can be worked on, it seems a bit bland. Being able to deliver a great experience entails a bit SASS/CSS styling background. You'll need to make a careful evaluation in the value of updating projects to the latest Modeler versions.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

For the most part, we're a replacing legacy business apps with solutions from Mendix. The quickness in which such solutions are delivered proved to be a big advantage. It does a nice job in terms of ease and speed in the iteration of feedback from the business aspect of development relationship.
