Does a lot of things I want it to do and for source control use.

What are the best aspects of this product?

It's able to handle a huge chunk of files. That's a great thing as I'm handling a large batch of XML files. Checking docs is simple. You get to compare which versions you want to keep. You can map a directory to a specific location to your local hard drive.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It's tedious in reconciling differences happening between sever and local copies. There have been certain scenarios where I'd think it'd be simple to get the two locations to match. But it can entail some manual approach within Visual Studio. I didn't like the fact that I'd have to undo changes to a file before deleting it.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

I'm working with other writers in a Finland office. Visutal Studio wants to make sure that we're never overriding each other's work. We get to leave comments for each other on which content was altered for every check-in done. Soon, we're thinking about carrying out a code review where writers can check out each other's work to ensure quality is preserved. I like how Source Control allows us to do just that.
