NEO LMS Review

PROS: NEO's learning tools are really beneficial to both me and my students, making the learning experience enjoyable and rich. It integrates with several group meeting communication channels and other external platforms such as plagiarism checkers, etc.

CONS: I have found nothing in it that disrupts the virtual learning experience. All that it does is make online learning easy and robust.

PROS: NEO LMS ensures I see the participation of everyone and their submitted works. I like that when a student hasn't submitted an assignment on the given deadline, it notifies those students.

CONS: I wish NEO allows teachers to inform parents of their kids' performance, or lack thereof. A great mechanism is being able to send them their grades or reports or inform them of missed homework.

PROS: Using NEO is effortless as it automates the facilitation of learning. It oversees management on the overall happenings in a classroom, as well as certification. The learning is made interactive to maintain the fun experienced in physical classrooms.

CONS: I haven't found anything that compels us to discontinue use. In fact, I love everything about it!

PROS: NEO LMS allows me to customize lessons easily.

CONS: There's a section that allows you to see students online. I hope that can be widened a little more.

PROS: Since this is our school's first learning management system, most of the students and the instructors were not familiar with Turnitin. Navigation was fairly easy with students taking it up with very little instructions because of the proper documentation. The professors in school were impressed, noting that even with additional information and resources, the system is easy to set up. On the user-friendliness of its UI, those who have experienced other LMS, professors and students alike, preferred to use this system. As a matter of fact, both my daughters, who attended bigger universities, like this LMS compared to the more expensive ones. The continuous updates, gamification, additional features, and interactive design make this a great deal, with emphasis on teaching and learning rather than IT. One does not have to be a master of design in order to have a great looking classroom. And students no longer have to follow multiple portals to get the information and materials they need.

CONS: If anything, it would be the limited room for personalization.

PROS: NEO LMS commitment to steady and continual innovation in relation to user feedback! Ability to design lessons and assignments as I like using HTML Editor with images, video embeds, and file uploads. WYSIWYG MS Word copy and paste function into HTML Editor. Intuitive user-friendly layout with the portal carousel that rocks. Gradebook at year-end makes it super simple to figure out grades by ranking. My students are always impressed with my use of NEO LMS. They say it's better than our in-house system, and I'm at 3rd ranked liberal arts uni in South Korea. Many of my colleagues use it too, though as Individual users not linked by a common school.

CONS: Limited to no customer support for Individual Plans, only Enterprise Plans; I'd like a limited number of question/support tickets per year for Individual Plans.

PROS: We’ve found NEO to be very intuitive for students and teachers, while providing plenty of access to advanced features. The quality of the basic templates and settings means that instructors don’t need to be designers to set up the classroom, but professors who want to play will find plenty of opportunities. It also provides plenty of flexibility for many kinds of class experiences whether online, onsite, or blended. The number of extra features and intuitiveness of the system make this an excellent deal for the school budget (we’re a small two year college) and low maintenance for many LTI integrations. The response time of the support team is also notable.

CONS: If you’re looking for lots of LTI integrations, you may find mixed results as NEO is still on 1.0. An upgrade is on the Fall roadmap. Administering the accounts is pretty straightforward, but you will want to use the trial version to determine if the account setting options are robust enough (they are for us).
