What are the best aspects of this product?

This tool provides great customer support and Its hardware and software are reliable and easy to upgrade. I love the SnapMirror app, it is easy way to back up data to another local disks and to move the data off site. NetApp offers great cost saving features, data center costs and space savings. I love all its built in tools.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

All NetApp tools are using Java. And the problem is that various products require various Java versions. It is true that this product has great set of options and tools but there are lot of them. It would be great if they could combine them. The product is easy to set up but difficult to scale out. And it needs much better integration.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We need tool that would ensures us that we have all data under control. By using this product we have found great way to get rid of IT refresh cycle. Once you use clustered environment you don’t have to do some expensive data migrations. This tool allows you to do Non-Disruptive upgrades of both hardware and software. It allows you to expand your storage infrastructure.
