What are the best aspects of this product?

I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it! In fact, I can associate every BI expereince I've had with Oracle BI, it does everything for me! I've used other reporting systems, but nothing compares to the easiness, simplicity, and versatility of OBI. That's what makes the system suitable for the needs of all business sizes and types.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

One doesn't really have an insight on bug fixes and common patches, as they are automatically produced. This is somehow understandable from a security perspective, but it is not helpful for managing multiple environments and gainiling ultimate benefits from your business.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Business Intelligence tools are compulsory for online retailers nowadays, knowing how many people are placing orders online, and expecting those orders to be shipped timely and efficiently. Take large corporations as an example: they serve millions of users every day, and I can't imagine them doing it with a service like Oracle BI. For us, concretely, the biggest problem was reducing the backlog period between placement of the order and the shipping, and Oracle BI solved it by enabling us to monitor our inventory, namely the status of products on the one hand, and the orders on the other. Oracle BI stores all previous orders in a history database, and that's just precious for forecasting upcoming business opportunities. Knowing what you've sold gives you the chance to predict consumer behavior, and to know which are the products you should highlight. The total benefit is reduced time, and an improved relationship between yourself as the producer, and your clients.
