What are the best aspects of this product?

SAS BI has what one would call a predicatble analytic suite, managing data mining in a seamless and powerful manner. There are many features to like about the system, but my personal favorites are: In Memory Statistics (Visual Statistics and Visual Analytics), Enterprise Miner, Enterprise Guide, BI Dashboard, Information Map Studio, Web Report, and OLAP Cube Studio.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

I am not such a fan of SAS's Access to Hadoop interface, both in terms of aesthetics and capacities. I believe that for a modern concept and technology like Hadoop, there should be a stable and intuitive interface (I was using Guinea Ping, for instance, because this was an absolute breakthrough in the industry).

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

SAS is our analytic system, and we use it both for ad hoc analyses, and detailed analyzing that involves large data volumes. The reason why I think that this tool is perfect for us, is that it provides uncomplicated features meant to be used by SQL savvy business people who need to get their work done in a short lapse of time (I am referring specifically to Information Map Studio and SAS Enterprise Guide).
