What are the best aspects of this product?
Power lies in comprehension, and SEMrush is there to prove it. Simple and well-organized, SEMrush made it to the top of popular organic search marketing tools, at least for us who have to deal with piles of different data. It has more features than you can possibly imagine, but it won't overwhelm you: everything is there with a purpose! The searching options are diverse: you can search by domains, keywords, or separate pages. The page stats displayed are indeed impressive, and the search process doesn't take ages to learn.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Both SEMrush and Moz work with campaign notions, and that limits the number of competitors I can track. I'd like to have graphs for at least 10 companies (the way Positionly allows it), and I really don't get it why things have to be this way. I hope they will fix it soon.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
SEMrush enabled me to make use of my data to improve my business, and I love having an insight on my competitors' websites and pages. I was pleasantly surprised by the research function, and I used it to create a large list of blog post ideas for the future. Staying in the middle of the funnel (MOFU position) didn't help too much, and I can see that only now that I can actually outrank serious competitors. Now, I am in a TOFU position (on top of the funnel), and I have access to top notch keyword ideas.
