What are the best aspects of this product?
Shopify is how ecommerce should look and be done! I think I wouldn't give up on it, not even if they allowed me to run a fully-equipped shop for free. There are few things that make Shopify so special for me: the first is scale. We placed a product on Good Morning America, and we obviously expected over 100,000 uniques in a couple of minutes. We notified the Shopify team to let them know about it, and they assured us it won't make any difference to our store. So it was! The second thing is speed. Loading times are minimal, don't depend on the number of products you have displayed. The third one is support community. I didn't expect less from a popular tool, and I joint few groups that really give access to documentation, hints, and advice. Finally: price! I can't think of a part in the sales process where a certain platform is cheaper than Shopify. There is none!
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
There is nothing to dislike about Shopify, even when you miss a feature, the APIs are enough to integrate the store, and to desing one of your own. The possibilities are just limitless.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Shopify's unique SKUs helped me succeed in resale, and I'm really closing many deals without losing focus from customer service. I used the platform to build my own digital product manager, with almost surreal complexity, but Shopify approved it and handled it, so I'm using it even now transactions and activity views.
