Handy tool for testing SOAP services

What are the best aspects of this product?

SOAPUI allows developers to test their web service. This product works great with SOAP endpoints and with JSON requests. I use it to test the services and it works wonderful. You can use WSDL file app for both locally and on the web to create sample requests for every action that belongs to WSDL. When it comes to testing and interacting with services is time testing. The other great thing is that it is a cross platform app. I use Windows and OSX version daily, and they even provide portable version of the app.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

UI is old-fashioned and it can be buggy. Sometimes it’s difficult to find menus or buttons, they appear hidden or hard to find. When I work on a smaller display such as MacBookPro I face with this kind of issue, but the issues are not when I work on Windows version of the app.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

As a developer, I’m using it for testing different web-services, to be more precise I test the SOAP services. I work on developing iOS app and it needs to interface with some SOAP services, so it can be possible to send requests and to read the data that is returned. It saves me huge amount of time, and I don’t have to manually craft SOAP requests by using some different tools.
