Wonderful tool for web testing

What are the best aspects of this product?

I love the free version of SOAPUI, it allows me to create simple web-service mocks with no lines and by using WSDL file for the service. It is great option for making some advanced dynamic mock services and some complex suits to test the functionality of the code so I can host a web-service. The Groovy functionality allows me to write Java-like codes so I can manipulate responses and requests for web-services and to make some assertions for correctness of the responses. I am able to access a database so I can verify the contents that is modified by web-service and to use file input/output into Groovy script. It is a useful tool especially for developers so they can easily test the web-services.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

I don’t like its documentation of some advanced features for the free version, and it is complicated to search through various posts about how to use the Groovy script. I had to search for pieces and to put them together. Also, there are some issues with the memory of SOAP UI, the program crashes. This happens when you allocate huge amount of memory on startup, avoid its crashes you need to select some options for logging levels, but I believe that this is problem of the software itself, they need to improve this one.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

I can create great number of web-services and some complicated test suites so I can verify the web-service functionality.
