PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

I like how Stata allows me the freedom to conduct my own A/B testing within its program. It is also very intuitive and is quite an easy tool to get to know and use. If by some chance, I do run into some issues, there’s always a community of users that I can fall back on. They have been helpful. There are ample training materials from Stata itself too. And the decision-making tool that helps you predict the outcome of your options (statistically-back, of course), is impressive.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

Stata is still quite an infant tool compared to its competitors--although its price does not seem to acknowledge this. As such, it cannot perform more complicated equations. It does not handle bulk data analysis well too. This will require you to transfer to a far more faster PC if you want to venture into the territory of bigger sets of data.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

I’ve been able to conduct tests based on my data sets. I mainly fire up Stata if I need to perform regression analysis so I can foresee possible outcomes of my options. Despite its shortcomings, I still think that everyone in the field of handling stats and numerical data should learn about this tool. This is why I teach this in class.
