PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

If your reading this you have likely tried many times mgt/productivity apps. Some work better than others, but none deal with the "feeling" of not having enough time. This is really a belief, not a feeling. And one that if you have, it won't matter what app you're using. Timehero is the only app that truly handles the idea of never having enough time. It's similar to the idea of not making enough money. Until you have a solid budget, can you even accurately answer the question "Can I afford this?". Well, time is similar, yet we tend to do even more is to arbitrarily answer "do I have time to add this to my plate?" Because we truly don't know the answer.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

TimeHero is it's own worst enemy in that having such an original platform of using adaptive scheduling AND true team collaboration will naturally come with some kinks since its unchartered territory. Nothing that makes you not be able to use it, but for example, they somewhat recently added repeating tasks. Now, this is huge because time management cannot exist without all those little repeating tasks such as sending a present for your brother's birthday in time or running payroll for employees. This addition though is not like adding repeating tasks to your standard task app or even calendar events because it actually schedules EVERY instance of a repeating task.

The good news, is TimeHero's support is so good that anything I have come across they seem to immediately fix. I certainly cannot say that for most companies in the tech industry.

What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?

There's so much potential and possibilities. You can actually view and vote on their roadmap which is nice. I have used this for 8 months and have literally seen 3 features that I voted for come to fruition.

I personally would like to see the ability to do more with Zapier than just create tasks and projects. I like the idea of their "workload" view which allows you to see how full your teammates' plates are but would like to have it be more clear. They are coming out with a project planner view that I have been told will do just that.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

The short answer…More than I thought when first using it. I initially started using this with my wife when planning our wedding and I cannot say enough how amazing it is for tasks that require specific start/due dates and tasks that are dependent on other tasks to be done. This turns many things into a set it and forget it mentality which, if you have gone through wedding planning, you can imagine is priceless.

In terms of my company, I began to see how my "team" of me and my fiancé at the time were collaborating so well. We had used shared google calendars, but this was a whole different level. Assigning each other tasks, seeing who was doing what, and more importantly when.

So I brought this to our team, and they loved it immediately and I really believe has contrubuted most to turning what was just a company, into a true team. From the main calendar view, I can click on "show team" to see anyones schedule. Again, not just events like viewing someone's G Suite google calendar, but also seeing the tasks they are scheduled to work on that day. But scheduled by who? That's the beauty, TimeHero schedules it! Don't ask me how, but it looks at every projects start/due date, tasks within the projects dates and priorities, each team member's work hours, each team member's google calendar events, and time estimates for each task. Not to mention, you can comment and view all activity for each task within the task window. So I can @mention someone to bring them into a task conversation and they will become a follower. It's like OmniFocus, Slack, and Google calendar all in one.
