Reliable open-source platform for deploying e-commerce

What are the best aspects of this product?

The biggest benefit of using WooCommerce is saving time, you'll see that straight from the beginning. Takes minutes to install, and starts running immediately, even when used on a WordPress website. A great discovery for designers willing to invest more efforts into customizing unique themes, mostly because of its intuitiveness which reminds of WordPress. There is a considerably good free package, so I think everyone can try it.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

Customizing themes scared me at the beginning, I couldn't find any online tutorial or manuals on how to do it. I had to turn to Lynda videos, which aren't that related, to say at least.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We recently included an eCommerce module in our online course, and WooCommerce helped us design it, both aesthetically and practically. Students are learning how to include shopping carts in their eCommerce themes, and some of them are doing a really good job. I can foresee few themes going live very soon, and I am proud of it. Needless to say, it was not the biggest investment we've ever made, not even after purchasing their extra plugins.
