Adobe After Effects CC is an animation and creative compositing app designed for animators, designers, and compositors; and used for creating motion graphics and visual effects for film, TV, video, and the web. The app, which is a part of Adobe Creative Cloud’s suite of video editing tools, is considered as a standard in the video industry when it comes to creating motion graphics and visual effects.
With After Effects CC, users will be able to apply animation to texts such as twirling titles, spinning words, and rolling credits. The tool offers numerous ways of creating visual effects. Users can come up with mind-blowing effects by combining images and videos. Also, through the use of keyframes, they can add motion to objects like logos, shapes, and cartoons. Last but not the least, After Effects CC lets editors and motion graphics artists work together on their compositions and shared sequences seamlessly.
Show MoreData-Driven Animation
The latest version of After Effects CC introduces a new feature which allows users to create interactive animations and motion graphics using data files. In this feature, they will be able to import JSON data files into the app to drive animations in their compositions.
JSON is a flexible data file format which can be used to collect live data from various data sources. JSON data files may contain data such as election statistics, survey results, or weather reports. As users import these data files into After Effects CC, they can use the data they contain as input to create animated graphs and characters, sliders, and other motion graphics.
Immersive Virtual Reality Videos
After Effects CC also offers a set of features and tools which helps users create compositions that deliver an immersive video experience to audiences or players – make them feel actively engaged or involved with what they are watching or playing.
Virtual Reality Video Composition Editor
The app provides users with the ability to edit their 360 or virtual reality videos using its VR Comp Editor which is comprised of compositing tools. As they work on their 360/VR videos using such tools, they will be able to view their footages as how they are seen through a VR headset.
Create Virtual Reality Environments
In addition, users will be able to build virtual reality environments with the app’s feature called Create VR Environment. With this feature, they can automatically set up the compositions and camera relationships needed for authoring and creating their 360/VR videos.
Apply Virtual Reality Effects
After Effects CC also offers a line up of tools that lets users apply virtual reality effects to their 360/VR videos. Because of this, they can enhance their videos without producing unwanted distortions. Such tools let them add dynamic transitions, effects, and titles to 360/VR videos.
Speed Up Animation Using Expressions
The app has a powerful feature which makes it much easier and faster for users to animate objects or scenes in their video. The app uses expressions which are lines and codes that they can enter, enabling them to control an animation in less time.
Expressions To Access Mask And Shape Points
For instance, users will be able to animate objects like shapes and masks by using expressions for their path points. With these expressions, the app automatically reads and writes the values for x and y coordinates of the path points on shapes and masks. As a result, they can animate such objects without the need of working on each individual frame. After Effects CC reads the values they set in an expression and applies them automatically across the other frames of the video, speeding up their animation task.
Visual Keyboard Shortcut Editor
After Effects CC also has a visual keyboard shortcut editor that lets users create their own keyboard shortcuts. They can modify the shortcuts assigned to keys which they can view through the keyboard user interface. This way, they can edit and animate their videos using the keyboard shortcuts they are most comfortable with.
Team Projects And Auto-Save Functionality
Summing it up, the video editing app provides an auto-save functionality, a new feature of After Effects CC which users can access in Team Projects. Team Projects is a feature of the app that allows members of a video editing team to share versions of their compositions among themselves. With the auto-save functionality, users will be able to easily access the previous versions of their compositions, update them to their current versions, and create new projects from auto-save versions.

PROS: Its interface is very familiar. Being a frequent Adobe program user, I immediately felt at home with this. In fact, I felt like I'm in the right place in AE. I can quickly pick up the software and make use of it in making motion graphics to Animate, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
CONS: Going back and forth with compositions and views can be confusing at times. If you have no clue where to look, it can be difficult to figure out why your editing won't influence the right composition or layer. The software could utilize enhanced visual cues. By that meaning knowing what they've picked and which edits are being made.

PROS: After Effects is an incredibly robust software that gives you a bunch of powerful tools to help you create the motion graphics you want. It has tools for video compositing, too. No matter the need, animation, motion graphics, compositing, etc., After Effects, can help you achieve the desired output.
CONS: The price of After Effects is too steep and is out of the budget range of most professionals and small teams. The software can be unstable too when there are vector workflows or third-party plugins included that lead to workflow interruptions.

PROS: Adobe After Effects is a software that is powerful yet difficult to understand and use at first. If you are really serious about utilizing it for enhancing videos, you have to invest more time and money. Only then can you begin to maximize the robust tools and features the software has to offer. Although it may be difficult, After Effects has a vibrant community whose members post tutorial videos on the web to help.
CONS: The interface looks complex. I hope they simplify it without letting go of the advanced features. Adobe could fix the rendering times too because even when I reduce the quality the wait is still excessively long.

PROS: For more than a decade now, I've been making use of Adobe After Effects. Throughout the whole time, I'm seeing the software getting better with each update. Every release brings in a set of new functionality. Some of these include a warp stabilizer, Lumetri Color panel, and Adobe Dynamic Link integration.
CONS: While I really love After Effects, it still has a few problems. For instance, it's a program that's very taxing. It tends to bog down and can be sluggish depending on your PC specs. Another issue is that there have been instances where it would crash.

PROS: After Effects lets me use my video editing and Flash animation skills in one platform. Animating 2D elements is a breeze and it offers quick editing of video parts too. Plus, it has keyframe-based editing and effects addition that make the job easier. There are color correction tools too that help me smooth out the crinks in videos. This is the only software I need for any animation project.
CONS: I only have two issues regarding After Effects. One is the limited rendering capability. Our projects require the full MOV render. Second is the caching requiring one to clear the cache from time to time to free the huge space used for just a single project. There must be a way to address these issues but I yet to see options.
Pure awesomeness to the core.

PROS: When it comes visual effects standards, After Effects is right up there in the industry. Aside from Nuke, I love making use of After Effects. I use whenever I'm in need of utilizing a user-based layout. As a visual effects artist, After Effects is the first thing that I learned of before exploring Nuke.
CONS: I can't put out anything bad with After Effects. It's consistently been useful and very simple to utilize. I guess if there's one that that it needs improving, it would be having more functionality. It appears it's using the same thing the past several years.

CONS: There's very little to hate with this software. I feel Adobe did a tremendous job having its bases covered.

PROS: After opening After Effects for the first time, I felt it goes beyond Nero's video making software. In the end Premier actually is the right fit. It would seem as if After Effects is God giving you a tool to be creative in any way you can and applying it to video. You can make title animations or include 3-dimensional objects right at the scene.
CONS: What I hate with AfterEggects are its docking features. Getting to move windows can be problematic. It doesn't mean it's that "difficult.' It's simple enough to do. But it would seem as if there's an even better layout or an approach for varying windows to interact when you're in need of moving them.

PROS: I love how its layer maneuvarability work. I like being able to manipulate motion graphics for every frame. It allows you to be accurate while offering short cuts. That is, if you're in pinch in making or animating a graphic video.
CONS: Doing a rendering preview can be frustrating from tiem to time. This will come down to your PC specs. My software won't go beyong 2 fames for previewing. And I'm using an iMac.
A prototyping weapon that proves to be invaluable.

PROS: I can understand and acknowledge how Adobe After Effects can be a robust tool. I barely scratch the surface when it comes to using it as a UX professional. Animations and video editing are exceptional. I make use of After Effects for defining UX choreography for a certain experience.
CONS: The sizes of files can be a lot biger to be tenable in a typical office setup. Since such videos can frequently sent over to client or included in presentations or posted over the internet, file size is essential. After Effects is capable of rendering some large files. Even more so for shorter animations.

PROS: One great way in describing After Effects is that it's a Photoship with added motion, pulse, movement, and animation. That's what I love the most about it. You can do these things in Photoshop. But you get to them in motion with After Effects.
CONS: From time to time, especially when dealing a major project, the preview mode can give you fits. It can either run at a snail's pace or you'll need to lower the preview mode further that you won't know what you're making at all. It'd be better off if there were enhanced engines for pre-visualization. There's a more advanced approach in personalizing folders and files.

PROS: After Effects offers seamless integration with Adobe. It third party system is rapid growing with animated typefaces, plugins, and pre-created templates. This serves good use for those who want to quickly turn projects. Its 2.5D engine is enough to cater just anything from special effects to video intros.
CONS: When you're comparing After Effects with programs such as Nuke & Fusion or Flame/Smoke, you'll realize that After Effects fits perfectly within the Adobe ecosystem. Going for Hollywood-capable projects may lead to some problems, but it's one reason why professionals for this tool. It gets things done. It made it so far and it's difficult to headline anything negative about it.
