What are the best aspects of this product?
Aplos has its issues, but out of all our options (such as Quickbooks), this responds to our needs best. At the get-go, we had no problem setting it up and getting it started--it's simple and user-friendly. We've successfully saved all of our contacts here and organized our files without a hitch. They have an attentive support team who is always ready to help us out too.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Given the nature of our organization, reports are considered as our bread and butter. We need it to update our donors and the many organizations that we partner with. Unfortunately, Aplos is quite lacking in this department. Sure, it has reporting features for balancing budgets and tracking income statements, however, it does not have comparative functionalities. I had to manually set this up myself, a very tedious task to do. The budgeting feature needs to be updated too because the program does not allow me to insert notes to justify the amount. Finally, there is the email feature that automatically fires off an acknowledgment email whenever we receive a donation, but it does not update anything in our system. It's the little things that I hope the developers would consider to help make our lives easier.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Aplos has, in so many ways, automated our workflow. It helps us get back to our donors more quickly and we've been able to generate reports in record time. Ever since we implemented this into our organization, we've been more efficient and productive.
