Great system for project documentation

What are the best aspects of this product?

There are many features I like about Confluence. It smoothly integrates with JIRA and its components to help you create different types of documents. The app offers templates to create tasks reports, retrospective meetings, etc. Plus, you can create and use your own templates. Confluence has the same permission model as JIRA, which allows you to configure access at various levels. Finally, you can embed a JIRA report inside documents and reports, which helps you to communicate with the information directly taken from JIRA.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

My main grouse is the licensing model is linked to JIRA licenses. This means if I pay for 100 JIRA licenses, but only 20 of our employees use Confluence, I still need to shell out for 100 Confluence licenses.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

I use Confluence to share project information and to communicate project progress. Plus, I can control access to important project and company documents. Confluence offers great benefits as it provides a repository for all the knowledge created by our team and client. We use it to store meeting summaries as well as to document the decisions we take. Thus, it is an invaluable reference tool to resolve any issues that may arise and helps us reach agreements.
