PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

It is easy host a large number of documents and our company’s Confluence system hosts more than 500,000 documents. It integrates smoothly with JIRA and you can use macros to refer directly to JIRA issues. Plus, Confluence offers a great WYSIWYG text editor which is much better than Evernote.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

I can point out a few drawbacks. There are not enough languages for syntax highlighting. The search feature is basic and it is difficult to find the documents you need. Finally, if concurrent edits are made to a document, the Nth edit will overwrite the N-1th edit. This is because there seems to be no conflict resolution for the edit differences.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We use Confluence to store and collaborate on software design documents, to receive comments from multiple users, and as a single source of truth for all public documents.
