What are the best aspects of this product?
As a company we use JIRA, Confluence and Hipchat. All these services work pretty well together but I believe it requires some work to get them all working well.
I like how I can follow specific pages (from different teams in my company) to help me keep up to date with different products; it helps keep me in the know when working for a international company
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
It's pretty developer friendly so some features can be a bit complicated to use and some users can be restricted by the admin. The product is great, but it can also be a bit overwhelming to use at times (getting some of the integration to work).
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
For me, it's indirect communication. As I mentioned, I'm able to keep an eye on product even though a lot of this stuff is talked about and handled in the UK while I'm in the US. I can comment and react to things before they move further without them slipping by my eye.
We have loads of different teams and I don't also talk to someone from each team, so making sure I follow all confluence pages that I'm interested in helps me stay in the know. As long as each team us using Confluence to document stuff, it works great.
