What are the best aspects of this product?
Telecomm systems from Avaya is simply the best. They've been in the telecom market since the 1980s and continues to provide reliable PBX Solutions for businesses. The one thing that I like about them is the capability of their failover technologies as well as survivability. Personally, their SLS and LSP are a lot better than what Cisco is offering.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
One thing I disapprove with Avaya is their current support model. For over a decade, they've been itching to move on from the sales and support market. They nearly made it by letting their business partners sell their product and outsourcing to China, India, and Argentina. It's difficult to achieve support from technicians that aren't really adept in the English language and in working in a different time zone.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
At the moment, we're making cost reductions through our SIP trunking intergration with Avaya Session Manager. We utilize a majority of Avaya's other products like that of AES, CMS, and Experience Portal, since they've resolved issues without our 911 dispatch and billing call centers.
