What are the best aspects of this product?
I am a former Miva Merchant user, and I am familiar with BigCommerce for about a year. What I didn't like about Miva was that there were too many modules, and they were seriously competing which one is more complicated than the other. They did some big time modifications, but they still didn't manage to avoid involving 3rd parties, and I really hated it. BigCommerce arrived to us as the solution for this problem, simplifying things to the max, and offering modern tools to update our website.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
I don't like user customizations, sometimes I even hate them. The Order Status is also not their pridest moment, and I can't understand why there is no such thing as a back-order status. This may not sound too concerning for some other business, but when you're doing retail it matters the world to you. I mean, tell me, is it so difficult to introduce creation of a new status? I don't think so!
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
I feel sorry that Miva couldn't overcome the problem of changing whenever the user changes, but at least BigCommerce solved the problem of us not being subscriber friendly. They offer great support on a fair price, so I like them. The greatest benefit to my belief is that new employees get in the game fast, and we're not losing time teacing them what to do.
