PROS: Great uptime and great features, these are the ones I like the most: cost-orientated startups and small businesses find it extremelly scalable, because they can develop an amazingly looking estore on a price, and still have professional features in hand. Then, there are tones of seamless applications, customer support teams that do the impossible to help you and to provide advice, and an amazing fellowship of developers, affiliates, traders, and other users to work hand by hand with you. There is even an on-line CEO meeting for questions and answers each month, and you are invited to attend it. Among other stuff, I appreciate the number of people behind the wheel, there is somebody to assist you in every phase of your business's growth. All of this being said, the company values the money you're giving them.

CONS: I don't really dislike anything, except maybe of the fact that they see things through the US prism only, as they are located there.

PROS: I am a former Miva Merchant user, and I am familiar with BigCommerce for about a year. What I didn't like about Miva was that there were too many modules, and they were seriously competing which one is more complicated than the other. They did some big time modifications, but they still didn't manage to avoid involving 3rd parties, and I really hated it. BigCommerce arrived to us as the solution for this problem, simplifying things to the max, and offering modern tools to update our website.

CONS: I don't like user customizations, sometimes I even hate them. The Order Status is also not their pridest moment, and I can't understand why there is no such thing as a back-order status. This may not sound too concerning for some other business, but when you're doing retail it matters the world to you. I mean, tell me, is it so difficult to introduce creation of a new status? I don't think so!

PROS: We have 4 years of experience using BigCommerce, and we never had a single problem with it, not even a small one. BigCommerce helped us understand that we don't have to be passionate techies in order to create customer-friendly pages, and that was critical for the confidence in our business. The best part of it was having an intuitive dashboard with directions, and a support crew ready to answer at any point of time. They know absolutely everything, and they respond in only few minutes! Overall, e-commerce is made easy, in particular offering new products, adding extensive descriptions, or reworking old content. You won't even be challenged by the promotional banners, where you can do promotions to improve your sales. I guess that's your main question: Does it improve sales? It does!

CONS: Absolutely nothing, maybe just a visual thing I mind: product reviews are placed very low (on the bottom of the page), and I think they should be more obvious. That's everything.

PROS: There is a great variety of templates to make your website attractive, and you can even customize them to make it feel personal. I was convinced of the power of BigCommerce from the free trial, and I was amazed by how easy and friendly it is. The dashboard is lovely, and the feature suite is robust. It also has an enviable storage, I must say. I'm still using the trial, but I'm seriously considering switching to a paid plan, I really like this program for my business.

CONS: I love the program, that's clear, but I'm still not sure whether I can afford the price. Don't get me wrong, it is a proper investment, but due the fact that I'm just launching online, I need something cheaper, and there are interesting options out there. Losing the power of BigCommerce will hurt, so I still don't know. If I had to make a suggestion, I'd tell them to prolong the trial, 15 days is simply not enough to familiarize with the features and to make a decision.

PROS: BigCommerce is backed by a proper IT company, not just a wanna be experts who promise technical support, but deliver nothing. I have 18 years of experience in the branch, so I know quite well what I'm talking about. They are there for you 24/7, obviously speaking English, and most of all they are technically knowledgeable. In case the agent comes across an issue he can't solve, you're automatically directed to fill a trouble ticket, and to let an expert team examine the data and solve the issue.By experts, I mean tier II/III level ones that send accurate responses on your email.

CONS: Help is great, but it is purely technical. I'm not sure whether they can support someone with tracking pixels, management or Google Analytics issues. I kind of get it, because they're a hosting company and have no obligation to tell you how to run your business, but being as great as they are, they can provide even this service. I hope they will consider this in future!

PROS: We were using Yahoo (current Aabaco) for almost ten years, and knowing how technology had advanced in the meanwhile, we wanted a fresh start. The process of finding a new app didn't take too long, as we were recommended to take BigCommerce by a friend right when Yahoo sold the app to Aabaco, so we decided there is nothing left to think about. The choice we made was smart, let me explain you why: BigCommerce is local to us (Austin, Texas), it is affordable and friendly to use, and has incredibly good customer support. They are the ones eager to develop your business, and they suggest ideas you'd never come across yourself. We felt confident to let them handle our financial liifeline, and we have no security concerns so far. The only thing I regret is not discovering the platform sooner.

CONS: Migration was not that easy, and it took them a while to correct things for us. We started with a regular payment plan, but it took 3 months to activate it, and we spent something like $1300 because we didn't pay attention to the agreement. But guess what happened there? Instead of keeping quiet about it, they notified us, and offered a pause plan in order to finish adjustment without paying a dime. How awesome is that?

PROS: Hats down for their customer service, that's something surreal! That was a number one priority for me to choose BigCommerce, and it will stay so when somebody asks me why I'm not changing it. I won't do it, because I really rely on technical support, and I have nothing but words of honour to say about the friendliness, helpfulness, and fun side of communicating with them. It really makes me love my job even more, I'm glad there is something like this on the market.

CONS: I miss that phone app that used to show me orders and sales numbers on the cell, I wonder why they removed it. I guess they're preparing something even better, so let's see.

PROS: These are my favorite features: Complete integration with Google Shopping and PayPal, Printable orders, and Automated and easy access to orders and purchases. In the meantime, I'm an absolute fan of their 24/7 support, the people really know what they are doing. I have 2 BigCommerce stores running at the moment, both selling an performing amazingly, and I am really glad I replaced my previous provider with this one.

CONS: I do retail, and I was often challenged when setting up different variations, or letting a user customize his shipping depending on the order he is making. Won't be an issue for you, I think, because customer support is always there to take care of it. Besides, they're located in the US, so there is not even a time difference to think about.

PROS: I've never seen better customer support, that's the thing. There is always a positive adviser on the other side of the line to help me maintain the website, or make it even better than it is. They know absolutely everything, and they seem to understand my problems even when I don't know how to explain them properly. I can't thank them enough for not leaving me rebuild the site on my own at the first place, that would be a disaster.

CONS: Don't get configuration for granted, there are templates you can't customize to your wish. On some of them, you can't even change the font and the colors.

PROS: BigCommerce helped our business to be noticed and respected. We are, in fact, a very small company, but nobody can notice that on the web. Thanks to this platform, we stand in the same line with our big counterparts, and we appear equally good even with a significant difference in the product range. The best part of the story is that I haven't hired anyone to keep things under control, I manage to do it myself in those few minutes of free time while I'm working. I guess it won't be too much of a trouble even to explain it to someone, the platform is simply easy. Another thing I fancy a lot is the technical aspect of the platform, and how one can calculate USPS freight charges automatically, or set up security certificates. We linked it to PayPal and the card processors, which is more helpful for clients than it is for us. Finally, we like that customer support is so helpful, and they offer amazing tutorials for beginners to go on board fast.

CONS: Selling products with BigCommerce is not like I imagined it to be, sometimes the process is a bit messy, while other times users can't access some of the options we've promised them (for designs that go on blankets, for instance). It's not that options are not there, they're just either difficult to find or too small to see. In the previously mentioned case, I had to add and remove options in order to sell the design, and put the blanket on it just after I've done it.
