What are the best aspects of this product?
The strongest side of Blackboard is diversity, meaning that registered users can attend and organize multiple classes. Accounts leave just enough room to customize personal blogs, folders, or wikis, and to organzie files in the preferred way. At the same time, you have your own document database, and you can download other users' files (even audio, video, or a link to 3rd party content). Voice Thread is also an option.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Blackboard is more robust compared to similar LMSs, but what doesn’t make sense is the dificulty of using its features. Nothing is intuitive as it should be, and it often happens for important functions to be lost in that mess. Teachers are usually trained to use it, but students take much more time. It is just scary for them at the beginning.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
I'd call it a students' product. It helps us do our work too, but we're still doing it for the students, aren't we? Our pupils are happy to have information stored in one place-a place they can access from home, to download and learn content even when they are absent. They use the same portal to send assignments and to check grades, and we use the quizzes to make the experience memorable. The product is absolutely helpful!
