Flexible regarding access of the backed up files

What are the best aspects of this product?

It is an amazing tool when it comes to back up of data and recovery of the same. I can back up data in my home computer and access it when I am away from that computer. All I need is to be connected to the internet and as such I can access my data which was updated or backed up into Carbonite. When a hard drive crashes, I am able to recover data that was backed up in the product. With my office or company computer, data is also backed up into the system where I can access it when at home.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It has issues when it is your first time to backup data. As soon as you deploy the system into your business or computer, you will select files you want to backup. Depending on their size, it will take time before the backup process is complete. This time is usually long which can be frustrating and tiring at the same time. Luckily, once you are through with the initial process, the future backups, of data, are smooth all the way. In short, you will have problems when starting off but with time of use of the product, you will get the hang of things both in use and backup operations.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

I am tasked with the role of creating e-learning and thus I work remotely away from the office. This means that my computer is not in the company’s server and thus I have to back up my data independently. Since I deal with numerous programs, video and music files, graphics and the like, I need internal and external storage to handle such volume. Also, I have courses for the e-learning program, which need a secure storage and back up. With my 2TB hard drive and an additional 3TB external hard drive, Carbonite is able to back up all that and make my work easier in the process. I do not have to worry about my programs and files getting lost.
