CARTO Review

PROS: This is a highly flexible mapping app. It lets us apply multiple layers on each map, which is helpful for our complicated work demands.

CONS: Additional options would be great, such as a tile grip mapping feature. We hope to see such improvements in future updates.

PROS: It features cool designs for all my online maps. I got no hassles from installation to use.

CONS: The platform has functional filters on its widgets. But these widgets look bothering in some instances, especially that I can’t easily hide them.

PROS: This is a stellar geographic information system that stands among other options. It easily assists us in analytics by letting us know why things occur at a certain time and place.

CONS: I don’t think this platform has any problem. It works efficiently for our company analytics.

PROS: I enjoy its usefulness! I made multiple Carto maps the year before. I loved that for point elements, you can use whatever plausible icons and display all sorts of pop-up details. I have created several heat maps or performance charts too, displaying the editorial work of our team in particular areas or regions.

CONS: I'd still prefer the old interface design than the new one. Though I think it's not that bad really when you've familiarized yourself with it.

PROS: Strongest GIS platform I've ever used! It makes you realize what actually is happening every time whenever.

CONS: Absolutely nothing!

PROS: A wonderful platform that makes learning spatial analysis, SQL, and even HTML as well as CSS very easy. Yes, having actual knowledge of computer science, data analysis, and geographic information systems are still best, but CARTO has helped me grasp such fields easier. This is even if I came from a completely different profession before. It boasts a more user-friendly and more fabulous interface than other options as well.

CONS: It features limited layers that become problematic in some instances, especially when considering user, tooltips, and styling label factors. CARTO needs to boost such features and minimize the restrictions such problems cause. Also, the platform only has a small user community that mostly includes its business users and workers. This makes finding solutions for certain concerns quite difficult since it is hard to find a user for some advice. Thankfully, CARTO has a dependable quick responding support team, which helps with problems that require instant solutions such as the need for mapping analysis.

PROS: CARTO is amazingly easy to configure and use for our job. It helps a lot in determining and tracking the effects of COVID-19 in various areas.

CONS: CARTO is quite expensive for us to pay. However, it is doing a really big help.

PROS: I really liked Carto. It made studying how to apply spatial analysis very simple. It feels like it's made from the point of view of someone without data or spatial analysis skills. I even learned SQL from Carto and some CSS and HTML using its builder interface. It obviously doesn't substitute the actual technical foundation in data analysis and GIS but without Carto, it'd be very hard for me to understand it. It's user-friendly and aesthetic.

CONS: I think things can be changed in the GUI. Like having limited user-dependent layers and sometimes with style labels/tooltips — It can also be a bit clunky. It would have been nice if it's not so limited. The community of people who knows how to use Carto was small. Also, finding stuff can be challenging if you don't know where to start. It's a good thing that the customer support is responsive really quickly as there are occasions when some mapping analysis is needed asap.

PROS: I really like Carto. It has a very easy to use layout.

CONS: Geocoding competitors has some lacking functionality.
