PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

There is a new version of Cerner that has been recently launched and boy did they roll out a lot of great features. They’ve introduced more options from their drop-down caged templates now. Plus, what’s more exciting is that they now have a set combination of diagnosis-medication which I find particularly helpful.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

The new Dynamic Documentation feature does not seem to recognize multiple user updates. For example, I originally gave the comments about a patient on his/her chart. If the doctor signs this off, Cerner does not save a different version with said doctor as an author. Instead, it makes it look as if I approved my own notes. It’s not too much of a big deal, but it does get in the way of accountability.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We’ve been able to mark which patients belong to which doctors more efficiently. This is all thanks to the new Dynamic Documentation feature that allows us to add notes and comments on the chart.
