What are the best aspects of this product?
We decided to acquire Dropbox for the primary purpose of keeping all of our files into one location. Each department was given its own assigned folders and storage space for their records and documents, which made the system well organized. Almost all employees were given the unique access that will allow them to share data with other departments and external clients freely. Given this opportunity, it would surely increase our chances of launching more successful projects in the future. Also, there is no need to upgrade your computer specs to accommodate all your files because you can store it safely in Dropbox.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
I recently found out that acquiring Dropbox on an annual basis would cost the company quite a significant amount of money. I know very well that we can pay for it in terms of budget, but feature-wise it is almost the same with the free storage apps out there that we can take advantage of. I would say that Dropbox makers need to develop some extraordinary features that would set them apart from free storage apps. Companies should have enough valid reasons as to why they should invest their money in Dropbox.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
We lack storage for our ever-growing pile of records and documents each year. Our computers and hard drives can hardly keep up with the load as our company continues to expand. It makes sense to get a product that can cater to our needs by giving us more significant storage and ample security. Dropbox will save us money in the long run because we don’t have to spend extra on hardware and software upgrades, plus it prevents our computers from crashing down.
