Powerful analytics tool

What are the best aspects of this product?

I get huge amount of data from Google Analytics records. Once you learn how this software works, you will get an interface rich with information, reports and customizations. All these things (huge amount of data, views, customizations and reports) are for free. Because this product comes from Google, we constantly experience new updates, new products, new tools/options and features and what’s most important we are able to sync data sources. If you are beginner, don’t be afraid of the complexity of the system because you can always find online message boards with the answers of your questions.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

What I don’t like about GA: I cannot apply filters and content groups retroactively, also we had to limit the number of rows to 5000 in order to export data to a CSV. This takes lot of time because requires manually work and joining CSV files so we can put all data in one place. I couldn’t export data to google sheet without using add-on. When I was beginner, I had many difficulties to learn the product, I wanted to use the system but I didn’t have an access to website data. It would be really helpful if they could add some sample data from a made-up website.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We use Google Analytics with beta product Google Data studio, and an intermediate google doc with google spreadsheet add make the reports easier and automated. The whole amount of data combined with customizable options make all our projects simpler. The system provides lot of flexibility so we can choose what kind of data we want/need to see.
