PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

Hip chat offers an amazing user experience, due to its clean and simplified UI design which enables interaction to run smoothly and seamlessly. They have a great timeline, where you get to use web cam and to share files, and the status of every user is easy to determine. Together with the web-based version, they have and advanced iOS app where you can rely on the same simplicity, and the fabulous integration with Jira is an additional advantage to take the tool into consideration.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It's a bit tricky to send emojis, because the icons are not to be found in one place. There is a left paren where you have to type the ( character in order to see them, and then you have to scroll down to find the one you like. The fact that there are tones of them doesn't help saving time.

We have developers in many different locations, and they communicate effectively via HipChat.
