Hubstaff has been the perfect tool for this. It is easy to use and provides screenshots of the activities of other staff working remotely. I highly recommend this to freelancers and other online companies that have remote employees.

I hope they can improve their interface and make it lighter to enhance user experience. It sometimes causes lagging to my computer, especially when multiple tabs are open.
